Since 2010, Boucherie Léopold I has carried on the art of artisanal halal butchery in the heart of Brussels, in Jette. All our meat comes from ritual slaughter without stunning, controlled by Halal Verif and the Service Contrôle Halal, and selected from outstanding local and European producers.

Every cut is worked with respect for the craft and a passion for taste. From ageing to cutting, we master every step to guarantee impeccable quality.

What are your opening hours?
We are open Saturday to Thursday from 9am to 7:30pm. The shop is closed on Friday.
Where is the butcher shop?

Is all your meat halal?
Yes, 100%. Boucherie Léopold I has been an artisanal halal butcher since 2010, and all our meat is prepared by our butchers. You can view our ritual slaughter certificate below.
Where our halal meat comes from
Who certifies your halal meat?
Two bodies are involved. Halal Verif certifies the ritual slaughter of the lambs, under certificate number BEW5140623SL. The Service Contrôle Halal is present at the slaughterhouse every Monday and every Thursday, and stamps the ritually slaughtered carcasses.
Is your meat slaughtered with or without stunning?
Without stunning and without electronarcosis, neither before nor after. That is the exact wording on our ritual slaughter certificate.
Can you tell exactly where a cut of meat comes from?
Yes. A control sheet for a given slaughter day can be obtained on request : it lists the sanitel number of each animal, its date of birth and its category.
Is the meat fresh?
Yes. Our butchers prepare it fresh every day in store, and your order is prepared just before you come.
What products do you offer?
Beef, poultry, lamb, veal, and our homemade preparations: merguez, marinated skewers and more. All halal and prepared by our butchers.
How do I order online?
You build your order on the website, then choose a time slot to collect it in store, in Jette.
How far in advance should I order?
Allow 24 to 48 hours, the time our butchers need to prepare it. You receive a confirmation email with a code to show at pickup.
How can I pay?
For an online order, payment is by Bancontact. For purchases directly in store, all payment methods are accepted (cash, card, Bancontact).
Can I order for a party or a barbecue?
Of course. Place your order in advance on the website. Also discover our barbecue packages.
