Order online from the butcher: a practical guide

Order online from the butcher: a practical guide

Ordering online from your butcher means combining the convenience of click & collect with the expertise and freshness of an artisanal butchery. Boucherie Léopold I allows you to place your order directly on the website, choose your pickup slot at your convenience and collect your freshly prepared meats. This system saves you time without depriving you of the sound advice from our butchers.

Why order online?

Ordering on the internet offers several practical advantages. You can select precisely the cuts you want, without queuing and at your own pace. For special occasions (family meals, barbecues with friends, preparing slow-cooked dishes), online ordering allows you to reserve in advance the pieces you're looking for, ensure their availability and avoid disappointments. You also save time in the shop since your order is waiting for you, prepared and wrapped.

Browse the site and build your order

Visit our website and discover our full range of products: roasting chickens, Blanc Bleu Belge beef cuts, Culard veal, tender lamb, as well as all our house specialities (marinated skewers, kefta, merguez, hand-formed hamburgers, house-made sausages).

The site is organised clearly:

  • Classic and basic products (chicken breast, entrecôte, minced beef) for everyday needs
  • Special occasion cuts (leg of lamb, pure veal fillet, bone-in rib) for celebrations
  • House specialities and ready-made dishes to save time in the kitchen
  • Marinated meats and skewers ready to cook for the barbecue

Each product indicates its composition, approximate weight and cooking advice. Take time to read this information: it will help you choose the cut suited to your recipe and cook your meat properly.

Select your pickup slot

Once your basket is complete, the next step is choosing your pickup slot. You can select the day and time that suits you from the available slots offered on the website. This allows you to collect your meats when it's convenient for you, without fixed schedule constraints.

Pay attention to the preparation times indicated: certain special cuts or large orders may require a few hours of work. A whole leg of lamb or a substantial selection of cuts to be trimmed or cut to measure deserve some time.

Advice before confirming your order

Before confirming, check a few important points:

  • Quantities: calculate the number of portions based on the number of guests and appetite. Allow approximately 200 to 250 grams per person for a cut with bone, 150 to 180 grams for a boneless cut
  • Intended cooking: veal blanquette or lamb stew can be prepared a day ahead; chicken breast or entrecôte are best cooked fresh the same day or the next day
  • House specialities: if you're looking for a marinated skewer, merguez or meatballs from our recipe, reserve them well in advance as they are prepared to order

Do you have questions or special requests?

Online ordering doesn't replace dialogue with your butcher. If you're unsure about a cut, want a specific cut, precise size or personalised cooking advice, don't hesitate to call Boucherie Léopold I on 02 307 04 38 before ordering. Our butchers are here to advise you on the best cut for your dish, the exact quantity and preparation details.

You can also come and discuss directly in the shop: we're open Monday to Sunday, from 09:00 to 19:30. A personal relationship with your butcher enriches your experience and guarantees meat suited to what you're preparing.

On collection day

Arrive at your agreed slot to collect your order. Your meats will be freshly wrapped, labelled and ready to take home. Make sure to put them in the refrigerator or freezer quickly according to your intended use. If you keep your meat in the refrigerator, cook it within 2 days. For longer storage, the freezer offers a good shelf life (meats 3 to 4 months on average, if well wrapped).

Frequently asked questions

Can I order by chat or phone and have it delivered to my home?

No, we don't deliver to homes. Orders are placed online on the website for in-store collection only. You choose your pickup slot on the site, then come to collect your order at Boucherie Léopold I in Jette.

How far in advance should I order for special cuts?

For standard orders (chicken, chops, minced beef), a few hours is enough. For larger cuts (whole leg, bone-in rib, large orders) or house specialities (merguez, marinated skewers, kefta), reserve 24 to 48 hours in advance to guarantee availability and preparation quality.

How do I know if a meat takes a long or short time to cook?

The website provides cooking advice for each product. Generally speaking: tender boneless meats (chicken breast, fillet, escalope) cook quickly in a pan or on the grill; cuts with bone and tougher meats (neck, shoulder, stew meat) require slow cooking in a casserole or oven.
